Bill Fisher

Bill Fisher is a Managing Director at Malachite LLC, specializing in renewable energy finance and tax consulting. Mr. Fisher has 14 years of finance and tax experience with Fortune 500 companies, a national public accounting firm, and several startup companies. He is experienced in raising capital to fund business growth and project development, as well as structuring complex transactions to efficiently monetize investor benefits while minimizing tax implications.

Prior to joining Malachite, Mr. Fisher was the Chief Financial Officer for two wind energy development companies, Wind Capital Group and Generation Energy. Mr. Fisher’s responsibilities included directing all corporate financial and strategic objectives including procuring corporate and project-level capital, structuring transactions to efficiently monetize tax and economic benefits for investors, implementing corporate accounting systems and managing human resources. In 2008, Mr. Fisher led Wind Capital Group through a $150 million investment with a strategic partner.

Mr. Fisher also co-founded the Energy Tax Practice for a top-15 national public accounting firm, where he led a firm-wide team of energy tax credit subject matter experts who provided consulting services related to federal and state energy tax incentives including the Section 45 Production Tax Credit and the Section 48 Energy Credit. He provided financial structuring, accounting/tax, valuation, and due diligence support for a wide array of renewable technologies including wind, solar, biofuels, energy efficiency and fuel cells. In addition to his work with the firm’s energy practice, Mr. Fisher provided real estate transaction advisory services to investors, syndicators and developers on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, Historic Tax Credit and New Markets Tax Credit deals.

Mr. Fisher received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Penn State, and holds a Masters in Taxation from American University.
